Since its birth, a number of phenotypes have been released, all with their own unique attributes. One of them is Gelato #33, a balanced hybrid with compact buds, staying true to its Cookie genetics. Like other Gelato phenotypes, Gelato #33 is covered with fiery orange hairs while its buds can be dark green to purple. What are THC diamonds?
THC diamonds aka THC crystalline look exactly like the little gems they are so fondly named after and are 99% pure THC-A. Their size is small and can resemble granulated sugar and at largest full-sized diamond look-alike that are a few millimeters wide. The remaining 1% of THC diamond is made up of terpenes and other cannabinoids. This is THC in its purest form possible.
What is THC-A?
THC-A is an inactivated cannabinoid. THC-A will convert into THC after it has been heated to extreme temperatures but is utterly ineffective on its own and will not produce the same psychoactive and euphoric sensations you would expect from a product high in THC.
How to make THC diamonds
THC Diamonds are made by extracting the live resin from a marijuana plant using a cold extraction method that does not convert the THC into THCA. While this is possible and many have successfully done it, the process is complicated and lengthy requiring a chromatography machine.
Step 1: The first step in making hash oil is using a cold type method such as CO2.
Step 2: The second is using a processed called winterization that removes the excess fats and lipids from the concentrate.
Step 3: This is where things get tricky and potentially dangerous. The winterized hash oil is soaked in a methanol liquid to dissolve them. A roto vape is than used to remove the methanol.
Step 4: Now pentane is added as a second wash to remove any plant matter residue that is left before it is run through a roto vape one final time.
Step 5: Now the cannabis concentrate is put through a chromatography machine. Since the making of one of these machines, and using the chemicals required for this process is not recommended, we won’t explain how to make one. Just know that it is a delicate step that must be performed under very specific amounts of pressure through liquids.
Step 6: The final step is a drying process that can take 3-12 days depending on the facility being used.
Best way to use THC diamonds
Since THC diamonds only contain THCA adding them to a drink or an edible likely isn’t going to give you the effects you are seeking. The best way to use THC diamonds is to either smoke, vape or dab them. Basically, any method that utilizes a heating element that will reach 350 Fahrenheit or higher should be sufficient to release and activate the THC within.
Effects of THC diamonds
The impacts of using THC diamonds are intense and not for the faint of heart. When comparing THC crystals to the average marijuana plant, it is easy to see the difference to get an idea of the possible experience you should expect.
